Principle of operation

Filter press flooding

Slurry feed pump delivers the suspension into the chambers of the filter press. There is filling all the filter chambers happen, begins the precipitate formation. This stage is characterized by the possible solid particles breakthrough.

Filtration

Time of this stage depends on the correctness of the chosen filter cloth and physicochemical properties of the suspension. There is an accumulation of solids in the chambers of the filter press. The work of the filter press is considered to be effective in the solids in the chambers to 75 – 95 % depending on application.

Cake drying (blow) / elutriation

Depending on the technological tasks there is flushing possible by water and other liquids, and the cake blowing with compressed air. These operations significantly increase the separation value of the slurry into various components.

Squeezing by diaphragm (in the case of the membrane filter press)

This operation allows to remove the liquid phase by a mechanical impact on the cake, while significantly reducing cycle time.

Core blow

Residues of liquid cake throw out by compressed air back into the storage reservoir.

Filter-press discharding

At this stage, the cake discharge occurs by spreading of the plates set by blocks to reduce the unloading time to a minimum.
