The initial flow with a low solids content enters the thickener, where the liquid is clarified and solid particles are concentrated under the action of mass forces.

After clarification, the water is returned to the production cycle, and the thickened flow with a solid mass content of up to 70% is pumped into the filtration unit, where the final stage of dehydration takes place on filter presses to produce a cake.

Thickener

There are several stages of processing a mixture of water with gangue (pulp) in the mining and processing industry.

One of them is the thickening stage, the purpose of which is to obtain a highly concentrated suspension (or sediment) and clarified liquid as the final product.

During thickening, special equipment is used - thickeners, they are used to recirculate waste water or chemical reagents, increase the concentration of solids in tailings sent for storage, as well as control water consumption at various stages of the ore processing and beneficiation process.

Thickeners are an important link in the technology of mineral processing, used to increase the concentration of minerals and prepare for the subsequent filtration process. The high-performance thickener with a central hydraulic drive and an automatic rake mechanism lifting system is a modern equipment for separating solid and liquid phases by gravity sedimentation, designed taking into account all advanced technological solutions. The thickener consists of a round section tank with a support structure, a bridge with a central drive, a feed well, a rake system, a flocculant dosing system, a foam collection system, and pumps for removing thickened product. For outdoor placement, the thickener is also equipped with a full-size cover, thermal insulation, and a heated room above the central drive mechanism.
